Please feel free to suggest any places that may be of interest. Where is your favourite doner serving establishment?

  1. Since moving from England to Scotland I have been very very disappointed in the quality of Doner Kebabs. I have found the doners to be very poor quality and the salad not fresh and only consisting of just lettuce and onions in some place and not even pickled. Most places here even miss out pickled red cabbage!!! and most places here don't even pickle their salad at all. Most places in Scotland use a sweet sauce and call it Chilli Sauce for some reason which does not go with a kebab at all.
Back in England I am use to places having a big metallic bowl for each type of Salad, for instance a big bowl of just Cucumber, bowl of pickled Red Cabbage, bowl of pickled white cabbage, bowl of Lettuce, bowl of tomatoes, bowl of onions etc...and a big pot of cooking fresh thick tomato chilli sauce (none of this sweet sauce in Scotland's Kebab shops).
Having tried most places in Glasgow and a few in Edinburgh I have found a couple of exceptions however that do chilli sauce how it is suppose to be done and how salad is suppose to be done they are below and I would also recommend you try these places and maybe write a review yourself?

Best Kebab House, 256 Leith Walk, Edinburgh EH6 5EL

CEQWA Nepalese & Indian Cuisine 692 Dumbarton Rd, Glasgow G11 6RB (although no red cabbage but chilli sauce/salad excellent)

Turquoise 44 Oswald St, Glasgow G1 4PL (although no red cabbage but chilli sauce/salad excellent)

So PLEASE kebab shops in Glasgow..PLEASE start to make your chilli sauce not sweet and how chilli sauce should be, thick, tomato based, chilli and to make the salad fresh, pickled, all the salad including pickled red cabbage.
